Dress To Impress

  • A girls dilemma has always been figuring out what to wear in certain occasions, parties, events, or should we say EVERYDAY. I am not an exception to it and as I write this blog, I am on the verge of cramming on what to wear to an event my friend invited me to.
  • It will be the opening of my friend’s new bar and resto. She wants me to be there well, mainly to be a supportive friend, and to entertain other guests (making me more of a PR). A PR?!?!? Now that gave me more jitters!ย
  • I’ve scanned all stores in the mall, but I can’t seem to find what I wanted. So, I browsed online and chanced upon Dressale.com. Voila! I found this perfect cocktail dress that spells style and seductiveness.

  • So I am now settled with the dress. Now, one more dilemma would be what shoes to wear. Good thing Dressale.com is a complete site. I found these three amazing shoes that can go with the dress. I guess, I will ask for your help to choose which of these three I will get ;)
  • The first shoe is this black and gold pumps. I love the sleek design and the gold touch made it stunning.ย

  • The second one is a T-Strap heels. I’ve always loved T-straps because it makes my feet look slimmer. This would be good for me if we decide to “get our groove on” with the music.

  • Lastly is this gold pointy stiletto. Now this shouts for elegance and “look at me I’m expensive” (HAHA!) But seriously, this is a good shoe if you don’t want to go with an all black ensemble.

  • So I’ve got a lovely dress and I just have to choose from the 3 shoes. You guys can own these items by browsing to Dressale.com
  • I’ll keep you guys posted once I’m settled with what I’ll have. An update as well about the event will be posted soon!
  • 'Til I post again,

The 1975 in Trinoma: My Unfortunate Blessing

  • More than a year now that a friend of mine introduced me to this pop/alternative/rock band form Manchester. They swooped us off from our feet from their “unusual” genre of music and that made us love them more. Indie is what has been on our headphones and they were the top 1 on our repeat list.
  • The 1975 has stayed true to the music they want. We’ve been following them until recently they became mainstream. I made a prediction that since we, Filipinos, are band lovers, in no time, they’ll be visiting The Philippines and will take us by storm.
  • And I was right. Ayala Malls made series of mall shows for them to perform. I was so lucky that amidst thousands of fans, I got the chance to get their tickets.ย

  • So, March 22, my sister and I rushed to Trinoma to purchase items in any of their apparel shops or food stores in exchange of a ticket for the secured part of the activity center.ย
  • And so March 29 came, the day that we have all been waiting for. My sister and I came from a birthday lunch and traveled from south to north just to be hours before the event starts. Upon arriving, as expected, loads (and I mean really loads like thousands) of fans were already there. Some of them camped since 10AM that upon getting in, a few of them were already seating in the pavement, perhaps resting and charging to have an energy to scream for the band.
  • We were inside the barricade and I decided to take photos to be posted here and my other blog pages ( agypsyphotogย and YOU-NIQUE). And then an accident happen, or must I say “Unfortunate Blessing” โ˜บ
  • As I go down the stairs that I stepped in to get a good shot, I tripped because a guy’s foot was on the way. I then sprained my left ankle which really hurt so bad. Good thing the security of Trinoma saw me and immediately asked how I was. I felt dizzy and my ankle went numb so I asked her to just provide me a bag of ice for cold compress. She went away then came back saying that I need to be in the medical post to be further checked. Much to my surprise, the medic station was just beside the stage! Honestly, the tickets we’ve got were actually quite far and a lot of fans were already in front of us. So now you know why me being injured is still counted as a blessing *wink*

  • This was the guy that attended to my injury. His name is Benji from The Medical City. He knows that I truly love The 1975 so he did ask the security to just let me stay in the medic station and, in fear that I may get more injured once the event starts.ย

  • And our long wait was over. Adam, Ross, George, and Matthew came out from the backstage and Trinoma then was filled with screams. The City was the first song they performed and all that I remembered was how amazing they are and the fact that I’m just a few steps away from them. I wasn’t feeling any pain (for at least the time they were performing).

  • We sang, danced, and made a lot of screams as The 1975 performed for an hour.ย

  • After the performance, of course, there were the VIPs and those that has special tickets that got the chance for a photo op and an autograph. As I’ve always told myself, be happy for something that you’ve received unexpectedly. Of course I would want to have the chance of perhaps shaking their hands or hugging them, but I’m already thankful hearing them sing and perform live the closest that I can get.ย
  • Another one of the nights that truly is memorable (for both pain and pleasure). Matt promised that they’ll come back. And once they do, I’ll make sure to at least have a photo op or an autograph!

  • 'Til the next post,
